So apparently it was somebody's birthday at work. Nice deco took 3 hours!

Update from home: Afterwards, I found out that EVERYTHING was wrapped up in aluminium foil; pens, phone, ruler, keyboard, chair... name it and it was wrapped. Amazing.

65mpg? And it's not a Hybrid? Only in Europe

That's a pretty cool looking car. Seats 5 people, nav system, premium wheels, it's a ford, 65 mpg... hybrid? nope. Diesel.

Can you have it? nope. Unless you move to Europe. That's right, Ford out of all people are selling cars that get amazing gas mileage without being an ugly hybrid! Just not in US. Why? no market. I cannot believe in this day an age a country as developped as the United States only has 3% of their population owning diesel cars versus 50% in Europe. I could not make up a better example of a country run by greed and it's corporations. Or maybe it's the peoples fault, after all Ford made this car for the European market, they must have higher demands than americans over there. Or maybe they demand the same standards, but unlike americans they actually vote for them.

Carpooling

I Carpooled again today and I got to tell you, when I look left and right on the road I feel like I'm the only one doing it. There must be thousands of cars everday on the road when I go to work and I never see more than one person in the car... I don't get it. The good news is that we're not running out of complaints that the fuel price is going up. Elevator talks used to be about the weather, now it goes something like "god, did you see the price of gas today?" DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! I only use my car twice a week to go to work and that's sharing it with 2 other people. Hopefully the bus shuttle will run until 6pm soon and I'll be able to take the bus everyday of the week. Just another way americans are different, they would rather complain about their SUV than lose social status by riding public transport.
